Beatrice Siegrist Bjørnsen

Stavanger Symphony Orchestra (Norway)
Beatrice Siegrist Bjørnsen is employed as a violist at the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, where she has been in a permanent position since January 1995. Throughout her work in SSO, she has participated in several chamber music productions, amongst them playing string quartet with Fabio Biondi, in addition to playing symphony concerts.

Beatrice is also a very dedicated teacher and teaches viola  and string orchestra with great enthusiasm. She is and has been employed by several music high schools , music schools and at the Barratt Due Music Institute. From 2012 she was coordinator of the Barratt Due Music Institute Young Talents. Talent development and facilitation for the individual student at all levels, engages her strongly. She has several former students who currently study at Norwegian State Academy and Barratt Due Music Institute. Amongst her former students one holds one of the leading positions in the Norwegian Opera's Orchestra. And another recently joined the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra
Beatrice has her education from Barratt Due Music Institute, where Soon Mi Chung was her main teacher. She has also participated in several master classes at home and abroad, including Nobuko Imai and Andrew Manze.

Beatrice plays regularly with early music ensembles like Baroque soloists and the Norwegian Baroque Orchestra.

Beatrice has taught at Valdres Summer Symphony since 2006 and participated in the Kristiansand Summer Symphony in 2011. In 2012 she was one of the artistic leaders for this.
From 2012-2016 Beatrice was the Course Director for Valdres Summer Symphony, and from September 2017 she is appointed Head of strings.
