Beste Tiknaz Modiri, -violist- is a winner of national and international prizes and awards, such as; ICMEC Competition (Gold Medal), BO.CO. String Idol, MTNA Young Concert Artists State and Eastern Competitions, BO.CO. Concerto Competition, 9 Eylul University national viola Competition.
Began her musical education with Ani Inci at the Istanbul University State Conservatory where she also studied with Venyamin Warshavski. Also with Leonard Matczynski at Boston Conservatory With full scholarship. Recieved her BA 2002, MM 2004, GPD 2008 and DMA 2010 and became an Associate Professor (Docent) in 2012.
She has been playing as a soloist with orchestras and giving recitals throughout the World including halls such as Carnegie Hall, Queen Elisabeth, Royal Albert Hall. As an active chamber music player was a member of long term ensembles and currently playing in ViolAria Ensemble, Sion Soloists and Borusan Virtuosi. The Prestigious festivals she attended is including Aix end Provence (France), Associazione Mozart Italia, Istanbul International Music Festival, Beethoven Fest (Bonn), BBC Proms (London), Salzburg Festival, FIMU Festival (France), Budapest Spring Fest, Apple Hill Chamber Music Festival and Mediterranean Contemporary Music Days.
She is currently holding an Associate Professor (Docent) position at Istanbul University State Conservatory and the principal violist of the Borusan Istanbul Philarmonic Orchestra and Philarmonisches Kammerorchester Berlin. Summers are spent teaching at Youth and Muse Festival in Boston, Point Counter Point in Vermont, Apple Hill in New Hampshire, and the Chichibu Festival in Japan and several festivals in Italy. She plays with ‘1883 Gand and Bernardel’ viola.
