Lisa Eggen

Conservatory of Amsterdam (The Netherlands)
Lisa Eggen (1994) has been active as a versatile viola player from an early age. With great pleasure she gives solo recitals, chamber music concerts and plays in orchestras. At the moment she is following a master's program at the conservatory of Amsterdam with Nobuko Imai. She previously studied with Francien Schatborn and Karin Dolman. She has followed master classes with, among others, Tabea Zimmermann, Jürgen Kussmaul and Lawrence Power.
Lisa successfully participated in competitions in the Netherlands. Amongst others, she won the first prize of the Maassluise Muziekweek, an honorable mention during the national final of the Prinses Christina Concours, a first prize at the National Competition of the Young Musical Talent Foundation and the Labberté-Hoedemaker Prize of the Peter the Great Festival. In February 2015 she was a prize winner at the National Viola Competition. She also won a place that year in the project "Under the spell of the string quintet" in which she collaborated with violinist Liza Ferschtman.
In 2014 she performed with the Orchest-Vereeniging Dordrecht in the Netherlands and Germany. She was also heard several times on Radio 4, among others from the Spiegelzaal of the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and in the radio program Opium.
Lisa is a viola player in the ambitious Dostoevsky Quartet, with whom she is currently studying at the Dutch String Quartet Academy in the program for conservatory students. In the spring of 2013 Lisa, on behalf of the Princess Christina Concours, together with Elvire Beekhuizen (soprano) and Sebastiaan van Bavel (piano) made a chamber music tour through the United States and Canada for the Netherland-America Foundation. She also gave chamber music concerts with prominent musicians such as Emmy Verhey and the Doelen Quartet.
Lisa gained experience in the Concerto Grosso Ensemble, the Nederlands Strijkersgilde, JeugdOrkest Nederland and the European Union Youth Orchestra. With these orchestras she traveled all over the world, including to Abu Dhabi with the EUYO. She currently regularly relocates in professional orchestras and ensembles, including the Noord Nederlands Orkest and Asko | Schönberg.
